Putrajaya, January 7, 2018 – The Ministry Of Foreign Affairs, Malaysia received a courtesy visit from Committee For ASEAN Youth Cooperation (CAYC) and Malaysian Youth Council (MYC) (affiliated body). The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dato Saifuddin Abdullah recognizes CAYC as an umbrella body of ASEAN youths in carrying out youth development work or programs in ASEAN, and MYC as a youth body representing Malaysian youth. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs agree to cooperate primarily in terms of networking and technical support in the success of international programs either domestically or outside Malaysia. Committee member express for establishing an international youth platform, coordinating with the agencies involved in youth development and want CAYC be given space within the ASEAN Summit “interface” session to bring issues and voices to represent ASEAN youth. CAYC and MYC will work closely with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs especially in broad-based awareness of ASEAN awareness among Malaysians. The minister, himself courage that CAYC and MYC to participated primarily at the ASEAN and other international programmes that focus more on SDG goals. Moreover, CAYC want to collaborate on addressing global issues in the form of workshops, discussions, forums or press releases. The committee want to involve with MYC in terms of disclosure in the international meetings or workshop talks that related to regional development focusing on youth development.
